So You Want to Start a Charcuterie Bar?

Here’s the Top 3 Things I’d Do (and the Top 3 I Wouldn’t)

When I started my mobile charcuterie bar business, I wasn’t looking for a cute side hustle. I was desperate to succeed.

I wanted out of the corporate BS—the endless meetings, the capped paychecks, the “ask permission” culture. I wanted to be a mom before anything else, with a business that gave me flexibility, freedom, and the chance to actually love what I do.

I didn’t have a huge budget or fancy equipment. My first cart was a $600 DIY build. I made my own logo, skipped a website at first, and spent strategically on the things that would actually make me money. In six months, that cart earned $60K.

Now, I’ve helped hundreds of people launch their own profitable charcuterie cart businesses—and if you’ve been sitting on the idea, unsure how to start or scared you’ll fail, this is your sign.

The Top 3 Things I’d Do

1. Start Even If It Doesn’t Feel Like the Perfect Time

The “perfect time” is a myth. If you wait for it, you’ll wait forever. I launched while pregnant, with a toddler at home, and a million reasons why I “should” wait. I’m so glad I didn’t.

2. Really Hone In On Your “Why”

Your “why” is your fuel. Mine? Never having to clock in for someone else again and being there for my kids’ moments, big and small. Your “why” will keep you moving forward when fear creeps in.

3. Done Is Better Than Perfect

Perfection will hold you hostage. I launched small but legit—permits, licenses, and insurance locked in—while DIY-ing where I could and investing only where it counted. Imperfect action beats perfect planning every single time.

The Top 3 Things I Wouldn’t Do

1. Don’t Let Fear Keep You From Changing Your Life

Fear will always be there. The question is whether you let it steer the wheel or ride in the backseat.

2. Don’t Overthink It

You don’t need a business degree or a 50-page plan. You need clarity, commitment, and the willingness to take messy action.

3. Don’t Stay Stuck in a Life Where You’re Craving More

If the thought of being in the same place next year makes you ache, you already have your answer.

Why Cart to Cashflow Is Different

Yes—the goal is to build a profitable charcuterie bar. But we can’t put the cart before the horse (pun 100% intended).

Before you ever serve your first board, you need the education and tools to step into your role as a small business owner. That means:

  • Mindset & Strategy: How to think and act like an entrepreneur so you can make confident decisions and grow with purpose.

  • Marketing Mastery: Without this skill, booking events is an uphill battle. We teach you exactly how to position yourself, get visible, and attract the right clients.

  • Back-End to Front-End Systems: From business licenses and pricing strategies to event flow and guest experience—we cover it all.

  • Scaling for Big Bucks: We think bigger than just a cart. We’ll explore adding high-revenue streams like cannoli carts, s’mores bars, dessert add-ons, and more—so you can book premium events and give clients irresistible options.

When you combine a profitable product with strong systems, bold marketing, and creative scalability—you’re not just building a business, you’re building freedom.
